Brian Wilson's Beard. . .

. . .it can't be real, right? I mean, look at it. It doesn't appear to match his hair or his skin tone. It appears to have a texture unlike that of any natural white guy beard I've ever seen. The color is totally artificial looking. The shape is...Amish.

In fact, that's what it looks like: the strap-on beard that comes in the plastic bag with an "Amish" costume you'd buy at Party City.

The cheap bastard plastic bag costume designers probably use the same beard for the "Amish" costume and the "Lumberjack" costume. And the "Sexy Lumberjack" costume. And the "Sexy Amish" costume, now that I've put the idea into their heads and they're sure to come up with one.

Anyway. That's kind of irrelevant, I suppose. Congratulations, Giants. Sorry, Bobby Cox. You'll be missed.

Current standings -- it's all tied up at the top, and I am wallowing alone at the bottom:

Tyler: 7
Vittoria: 7

FOX: 6
mighty momogus: 6
WaPo: 6
jcd: 4
Steve G: 3
jordanbaker: 2

One game left in the Division Series, folks -- let's go, Rays!

Wow, I'm comning on strong so far this year, let's hope I can sustain this!! And let's go Rays, even though I had them in 4...

Almost everyone had the Rays, most of us in four. It was not a great night for the fearless and fairly illogical pickers.

I'm so glad you commented on his beard - it's been freaking me out since I first saw it.

Wilson has been dominant in the playoffs so far. The Giants havent given hitters many opportunities to do any damage. The offense isnt getting many runs across the plate, but they dont need to.

Yes, but what about the BEARD???
